Final Announcement: Request for Expression of Interest (EOI) and Nominations for Five Opportunities to Provide Leadership in Afrihealth Optonet Association (AHOA)
We pray and hope that you are doing well.
Afrihealth Optonet Association (AHOA) is a global-level and community-focused Network/Think-tank of civil society organizations (CSOs) and non-state actors (NSA) on Health, Human Welfare/Rights, Climate Change, Biodiversity Conservation, Food Security and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Established in 1997 and incorporated in 2003, the AHOA has teams/chapters in the FCT and 36 States of Nigeria. With more than 2,800 organizations from 120 countries as its members, and a Google Group of over 44,000 members globally, AHOA has become a third-sector global player, partner, project/programme developer, implementer, monitor and reporter on the measures needed to achieve and safeguard them. AHOA’s strategic approach to its interventions include using Partnerships and collaborations; Advocacy, communication/media and social/resource mobilization (ACSM); Research/evidence-generation including reviews, assessment, oversight, conferences, seminars, symposia and workshops; Capacity Development/Training and Organizational Strengthening; Outreaches and community engagements; and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
We are pleased to share with you below, the following leadership positions in AHOA that are available for interested and motivated individual stakeholders all over the World – persons interested in and or concerned about Health, Climate Change/Energy/Environment/Biodiversity/Ecosystem, Nutrition/Food Security/Agriculture, and Governance/Gender/Democracy/Human Rights.

Any other persons and institutions fitting into the above categories may be nominated for consideration by sending an email nomination with justifications to Afrihealth’s CEO <ceo@afrihealthcsos.org> and CEO Afrihealth <ceoafrihealth@gmail.com> using the ‘Position/Award, Name and Country’ of the nominee, as the subject of the email message.

The deadline for EOIs and Nominations is 31 March 2025. AHOA’s reviews of the EOIs and Nominations commence immediately, and final decisions on each EOI and nomination shall be communicated to the respective candidates on rolling basis, till the 7th of April 2025.
Inaugurations and Conferment shall be held virtually and physically (hybrid) on 19th June 2025. Details shall be communicated by May 2025.

The Afrihealth Optonet Association (AHOA) is committed to exploring the nexus between Health (UHC, PHC, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis or TB, Malaria, Mpox, Hepatitis, NTDs, Cancers, NCDs, Vaccines, Immunization, Vitamin/Mineral Deficiencies or Hidden Hunger, and COVID-19); Environment, Ecosystems, Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Conservation, and Climate Change; Nutrition and Food Security; Gender, Democracy, Good Governance, and Human Rights. Afrihealth Optonet Association (AHOA) is in Consultative Status at UN ECOSOC, accredited Observer status at UNEP/UNEA, accredited to the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, and approved by the African Development Bank (AfDB). Its application to the UNFCCC is awaiting approval/admission. AHOA is the lead organization and secretariat of the African Network of Civil Society Organizations (ANCSO) and the Global Consortium of Civil Society and Non-State Actors on Climate Change and Conference of Parties (GCSCCC).
